Koenjhar: Health and Family Welfare Minister Damodar Rout has today directed all the chief district medical officers (CDMO) to file a report detailing all the requirements in connection health infrastructures and human resources. The reports are required to be submitted by end of this month.
The CDMOs will report on the requisites in terms of infrastructure and man power in the district headquarters hospitals, sub-divisional hospitals, community health centres and primary health centres.
The report will focus on the need of buildings, their restoration, medical equipments, nurses and paramedical staff. The health minister, during his visit to Koenjhar yesterday, had held a discussion with CDMO Dr Bharatimani Behera about the healthcare facilities in the district headquarters hospitals. Rout also advised her to ensure that the people of the tribal-dominated district get proper proper healthcare.
The health minister emphasized the need for immediate treatment for the injured at the district headquarters hospital. Rout said that the government will take necessary steps after availing the reports from the CDMOs.
Later, the minister addressed a meeting of the Maa Tarini Swarnakar Sangh attened by Padmashree Tulashi Munda, Koenjhar MLA Subarna Nayak and Keonjhar Municipality chairman. Hundreds of tribal women and people who have lost their lands to the railway projects met the minister and apprised him of their problems. He assured them that he would take up their problems with the chief minister.
