Report by OD bureau; New Delhi: Congress MP from Odisha and Senior Congress leader Pradeep Majhi on Wednesday condoled the death of the Union Science and Technology Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh.

In his condolence message, Majhi said Deshmukh would always be remembered as a prominent leader, respected for his valuable and dedicated service rendered to the state of Maharashtra and the nation as a whole.  The country had lost an "astute and pragmatic" leader with vast and varied experience in political life.

Recalling his dealings in Parliament with Ex- Heavy Industry minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, Sri Majhi expressed that he felt very much satisfied with the prompt and accurate responses given by then minister on queries and issues related to Heavy Industry.
Majhi prayed for his deceased soul and wish for all support and strength for his near and dear ones.
