Report by Akshya Rout, Jajpur: Police have unearthed a fake job racket in Jajpur on Tuesday and arrested eight persons of Jharkhand, Bihar and Rajasthan from a hotel in Jajpur road.
Ashwini Kumar Sahoo the police officer of Jajpur road police station said “Police have arrested Bijaya Kumar Ram (37) of Jamshedpur , Ajit Kumar Ray (24) of Bihar, Syed Kjakhan (23) of Jamashedpur , Amit Ray (36) of Bihar , Rajib Kumar (28) of Gaya , Pawan Kumar (26) of Rajasthan and Satish Mohapatra of Cuttack .
All the arrested persons posing themselves as the job recruitment officers of TATA company interviewed at least 15 engineering graduates in Bhimsen Palace hotel in Jajpur town on Monday evening and demanded Rs 90,000 from each job seekers to provide them jobs in TATA company and TATA steel in Kaslinganagar areas. But some of the job seekers got suspicious and contacted the senior officials of TATA company in Kalinganagar and came to know that their interviewers are fake officials.
Later , C. Thomas the Chief Security Officer of TATA ‘s project in the state filed an FIR in Jajpur police station on Tuesday and alleged that some persons posing themselves as officials of TATA company tried to cheat some engineering graduates and others.
All the seven persons were arrested under sections- 419,420 and 34 of IPC. They were produced in the court of Sub- divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) in Jajpur Town on Tuesday . The court rejected their bail applications and remanded them in jail custody.
