Bhubaneswar: Considering the growing number of patients, the state government has decided to strengthen the administrative setup of the Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar, and improve its healthcare wing with provision of modern equipments.
According to official sources, health and family welfare minister Damodar Rout has recently held a review meeting regarding the functioning of the Capital Hospital and the Rourkela General Hospital (RGH).
As decided, the post of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) in the Capital Hospital would be upgraded to the status of director and the state-level hospital would function as an autonomous health institute like a government medial college and hospital.
All the dispensaries and tertiary hospitals now under the control of the Capital Hospital would remain under the administrative control of the Khurda Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO). In order to man the hospitals, another post of ADMO would be created.
Similarly, it was decided that the administrative domain of the Rourkela Government Hospital (RGH) would be limited to the hospital and another post of ADMO would be created for the Rourkela region under the Sundargarah CDMO to look after the periphery hospitals around Rourkela.
The fovernment is also considering upgradation of the post of the CMO of the RGH for better its administration.
