Bhubaneswar: Eminent Ollywood filmmaker and lyricist Sarada Prasanna Nayak will receive the Rasaraj Geetikunj Trust Samman for this year for his contribution to the field of Odia lyrics.
The annual award has been instituted by the city-based Rasaraj Geetikunj Trust, the premiere forum engaged in preservation and promotion of Odia lyrics.
The Trust has been formed with resource support from legendary lyricist Narayan Prasad Singh who is known as Rasaraj. We celebrate his birthday with a state-level gathering of the lyricists, musicians and singers at the Trust auditorium and the honour is conferred during the occasion on an eminent lyricist of Odisha, said Trust spokesperson and music archivist Surya Deo.
The ceremony this year coincides with celebration of Rasaraj's 77th birthday on May 28, her added.
The previous recipients of this award are, Banchhanidhi Das, Bipin Bihari Mohanty, Binodini Debi, Snehalata Mohanty and Jadunath Das Mohapatra.
Album of an award winning musical feature produced by All India Radio, Cuttack shall be released on the occasion for private and non-commercial circulation.
