4 The Amazing Spider-Man is a remake of Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man (2002). With time and technology innovations the franchise reboots its first film released a decade ago. Amazing Spiderman was awesome. What made it amazing was that it made Spidey more human. It was more of Parker and less of web slinging gimmicks. Last 30 minutes were a visual treat. What makes The Amazing Spider-Man most compelling is the impeccable casting, simple story, its protagonist so relatable and the movie is more thoughtful, and its action scenes are easier to follow.
Taking the reins from Sam Raimi, who shepherded the first three Spidey blockbusters the latest one directed by Marc Webb based on the Marvel Comics superhero Spider-Man created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. And Andrew Garfield replaced Tobey Maguire as the title role of the superhero. The cast also includes Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy and Rhys Ifans as Dr. Curt Connors. Andrew Garfield who looks little bit older 28 to be in high school but he did great job like his predecessor, Tobey Maguire.
The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents' disappearance - leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr. Curt Connors (Ifans), his father's former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors' alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.
“The Amazing Spider-Man” using 3D cameras, and the director composed his images with the giant IMAX screen in mind. As the story goes Connors overdoses on lizard juice and expands into the hyper-violent Lizard, who goes on rampages and knocks cars off bridges with its tail. This sets up some amazing scenes but the movie’s best scene, when Spidey save a boy from a burning car hanging from a bridge.
In gist the new avatar of Spiderman is vastly different from the three movies made by Sam Raimi last decade. The Amazing Spider-Man is more thoughtful, and its action scenes are treat to watch. Out of five the movie will get four stars and as said it’s a treat to watch in IMAX.
