Bhubaneswar: The 38th annual Bhajan Samaroh, organised at the Singhadwar in front of the Jagannath Temple at Puri, will have a special guest this year.
Noted actress and dancer Vyjayanthimala Bali will be sharing stage with renowned bhajan singers Pandit Rajan Mishra and Pandit Sajan Mishra along with several other artistes of the genre.
Governor Muralikant Chandrakant Bhandare would be inaugurating the function, in which a number of awards would be handed down to various artistes for excellence in different fields of performing arts. Vyjayantimala will be receiving the Kalaratna Mala Award this year.
The Mishra brothers will be felicitated with the Sur Sargam Award and Makhanlal Haldar Award. Famous tabla player Prasanna Mishra will be awarded with the Badya Baridhi title. The programme is organised on the auspicious day of Bailkuntha Chaturdasi, which fall s on the eve of Kumar Purnima every year.
