Report by OD bureau; New Delhi: Preparations for the annual Rath Yatra in full swing at different Jagannath temples in New Delhi. This year the Rath Yatra will be taken out in six different areas of National Capital Region.
Chariots' construction work commenced on the occasion of Akshay Tritiya in the all the six temples of NCR. The wheels of the chariots already fitted into their axes and almost completed by so far.
All the temples authorities planning to organize Rathayatra with a colourful programme from June 21 to 29, synchronising with the schedule observed at Jagannath Puri in Odisha. Among these six temples usually largest devotees gathered at Tyagraj Nagar and Hauz Khas Jaggnath Temple in South Delhi. In Hauz Khas village and Tyagraj Nagar Temples in South Delhi every year over one-and-a-half lakh devotees took part in the procession.
The programme at Hauzkhas Temple will begin with a pulling of chariot (Ratha Yatra) from the Hauzkhas Temple in Green Park to Safdarjang Airport. During the nine-day festival, the main attraction will be bhajan-kirtan, arati, cultural in all the six temples. Noted Odia film comedian Papu Pom Pom will perform at Tyagraj Nagar Jagganth Temple. Tyagraj Nagar Jagganth Temple also organizing a blood donation camp at temple premises.
