Bhubaneswar: Governor Murlidhara Chandrakant Bhandare on Saturday inaugurated a National Artists’ Camp at the Raj Bhavan. The camp will continue till July 11.
Bhandare said art is the language of the heart which has no geographical boundaries. The present works of the artists, when completed, would be preserved in the Raj Bhavan, he said.
Culture Minister Prafull Samal, Principal Secretary of Culture Department Ashok Tripathy, Governor’s Secretary Parag Gupta and Special Secretary Surendra Mishra, Director of Culture SK Das and president of Lalit Kala Akademi DP Dash and secretary Rabi Rath were present.
The participating artists are Siba Panigrahi, Ramahari Jena, Jagannath Panda, Dinanath Pathy, DN Rao, Sailabala Nayak, JC Kanungo, Prabir Dalei, Pratul Das, Sudhansu Sutar, Asit Patnaik, Diana Mohapatra, Pradosh Swain, Anup Chand, Ramakanta Samantaray, Bibhu Pattanaik, Baijayant Das, Birendra Pani, Helen Bala Brahma, Tapan Das and Sambit Panda (all from Odisha), V Nag Das (Chhattisgarh), LN Bhawasar (MP), Parag Borse and Anju Mehra (both Mumbai), RC Khasmall (Pune) Indra Pramit Roy (Baroda) and Bharati Kapadia (Maharashtra).
