Report by OD bureau, Bhubaneswar: 'The Sunday Indian' felicitated six young persons with Youth Achievers Award on the occasion of magazine's 5th anniversary celebrated at Jaydev Bhaban in city on Tuesday.While inaugurating the function, Soumya Ranjan Patnaik, Editor of the 'Sambad' praised the initiative of the magazine for bringing the latent talents amongst the youth mass and encouraging them with the award.
Jaswant Narayan Dhar of the All India Radio lamented the degradation of ethical and moral values in the society particularly. Revenue Divisional Commissioner (central) and Chief Administrator of Srimandir Dr Arbind Padhee while delivering his speech focused on the accountability of government officials. Minister of Energy Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak also spoke on the changing role and responsibility of the mainstream media.
On this occasion, a special issue on 25 Revolutionary and Path-breakers of Odisha was released at the function presided by Dhrutikam Mohanty, Senior Editor of the Sunday Indian. TSI-PPL Youth Achievers Award 2012 was presented to Bijay Kumar Mishra for excellence in Social Work while Rashmi Ranjan Parida for Sports, Rajashree Praharaj for Classical Dance, Subhransu Panda for Literature, Samresh Routroy for Film and Santanu Barad for Journalism.
