Report by OD bureau; Bhubaneswar: India’s richness in people, flora & fauna recaptured her days of glory which reflected in the patriotic songs presented by the singers of repute in the evening on 15th August 2012 at Rabindra Mandap, Bhubaneswar.
It was for the first time the Odisha Sangeet Natak Akademi under the aegis of the Department of Tourism & Culture organised Bharatiyam – A Festival of Patriotic Songs conciding the celebration of 66 years of India’s Independence.
The spectacular ambience had the patriotic taste and flavour in and around the stage and outside the auditorium symbolizing the spirit of unity peace and amity along with the colour and rhythm.
The singers of the evening were Sri Pranab Kishore Pattnaik, Guru Ramahari Das, Sri Lakshmi Kanta Palit, Sri Subash Dash, Smt.Trupti Das, Sri Sourav Nayak, Smt. Pammi Mishra, Ms. Tapu Mishra, Ms. Nazia Alam, Sri Randeep Palit, Sri Bandish Palit, Ms. Barnali Hota, Students of DAV Public School, Pokhariput, Bhubaneswar who had stood first in the patriotic song competition held earlier on 1st and 2nd August 2012 among the high school students of Bhubaneswar. The second winner was KV-I School and the third DAV Public School, Unit-VIII, Bhubaneswar.
The dignitaries who graced the occasion were Shri Ashok Kumar Tripathy, Principal Secretary, Tourism & Culture, Shri Sushil Kumar Das, Director, Culture; Dr. Sarat Pujari, President, OSNA and Shri Chitta Ranjan Mallia, Secretary, OSNA and eminent Singer Sri Lakshmi Kanta Palit. The programme was compered by Shri Deba Prasad Dash and Kamal Kiran.
