Report by OD bureau, Bhubaneswar: The members of Bhubaneswar Round Table 53, part of Round Table India, an association of young men, actively involved in social activities, celebrated the birthday of the Father of the Nation in a unique way with their families & children at Mumtaz Ali School, Dumduma by planting more then 200 saplings by their kids along with the school children.
The idea was to celebrate the birthday of the greatest Indian ever in a novel way, by educating future generation about the importance of preserving our planet & getting them involved by planting their own tree.
The Chief guest for the GO GREEN campaign, Mr. K. Jude Sekhar, IFS, Principal Chief Conservator of Odisha & the Chairman of BRT 53 Tr. Abhishek Gupta graced the same as the Guest of Honour, & addressed the children along with Mr. Maqbool Ali, Mr. S.K Patnaik, Headmaster of the School and the HT of BRT 53, Zishan Ali in the presence of other members of BRT 53, all the speakers stressed on the importance of keeping our environment safe & clean for future generations as well as the relevance of Mahatma Gandhi's principles & practices in our lives.
The table also distributed food packets to all the school children to celebrate this great day. It may be noted here that, Round Table India, a fifty three years old pan India organization, built 1200 schools benefiting seven lakh children across India under its long term project Freedom through Education in last decade. Round Table India at BRT 53 have been actively associated with a number of noble causes (Bhima Bhoi Blind School / Rawa Academy / Flood Relief Operations / Slum School, etc).
