Report by OD bureau, Bhubaneswar: The 33rd edition of Sarala Award is to be organised today (26.10.2012) evening at Jayadev Bhawan here. Noted bureaucrat and eminent writer Dr. Hrusikesh Panda will get the prestigious literary award for his book ’Garba Kaflbara Katha’. Two other renowned personalities- Mardala artist Banamali Maharana and Social worker Shri Paclmacharan Nayak will also be honoured for their valuable contributions to the society and the state.
Dr. Hrusikesh Panda will receive a cash award of Rs.2.5 Iakh along with a citation.
Mardal Badak Sri Banarnali Maharana and Sociai worker Sri Padma Charan Nayak. wiil receive a cash award of Rs.51,000/— each along with citations.
Shri Vishwanath Prasad Tiwari, Vice President, Kendra Sahitya Academy, will grace the occasion as Chief Guest of the function. Mr. V.P Tiwari is former Professor , Gorakhpur Univ. He is widely known as a literary personality of India and is famous for his research—based books in Hindi Prose & Poetry. He is the editor of well—known Hindi literary magazine 'Dastabez' since 1978.
The annual Sarala Award instituted in the year 1979 by Indian Metals Public Charitable Trust(IMPaCT). IMPaCT is the charitable wing of IMFA Group, the leading and the only fully integrated producer of ferro alloys in India. Sarala Award is recognised as the foremost literary award of our State. This award is one of the finest contributions of IMPaCT to glorify Odia literature. The Ekalabya Award also instituted by IMPaCT crowns promising sports talents of Odisha.
