Bhubaneswar: In observance of the 123rd birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the Nehru Institute of Youth Affairs (NIYA) will organise a National Integration Fair 2012 here from November 4 to 14.
This was informed by NIYA office-bearers to reporters here on Monday.
During the last 40, years the NIYA has been conducting various state-level literary competitions, inter-school sports meets, sports for physically-challenged, blood donation camps, Jhoti and Mehendi competitions, baby health shows, quiz tests and Odishi dance competitions to mark the occasion.
The successful competitors will be awarded on November 14 at the valedictory function. Besides, several people will also be felicitated for their contributions in different fields like journalism, social work and environmental protection, economics and children’s literature.
A Geetinatya titled Abhisapta Khatriya will be staged on November 14.
Child members of NIYA will perform in this event. A novel competition Bay-Blade is also being organised as part of the fair.
Among others, NIYA secretary Rajesh Dash, Surendra Kumar Sahu and Banibrata Tripathy were present.
