Report by Amarnath Parida; Jagatsinghpur: Criminals who have been operating many crimes dacoit, snatching , smuggling and demanding extortion by the gun point and bomb hurling from Allipingal jail has come to fore by the intervention of Balikuda police.

Sources said that frequent dacoit and bomb hurling and demanding extortion at gun point on last week was sleepless night for local police in which police took it challenge to unearth racket. Superintendent of police Mr. S.Debdatta Singh pressed two special teams to unearth a dacoit case with bomb hurling at Balikuda petrol pump and a firing incidence at Allipingal area recently.

One dreaded accused Prasant Sahu alias Sarkit who is inside in Allipingal jail has been operating criminal activities in Balikuda, Jagatsinghpur and other areas by using local miscreants .

On last Saturday, there was dacoit case with bombing in the petrol pump at Balikuda in which local police registered a case in this connection. Similarly, a firing incidence took place at Allipingal just close proximity of local jail in which Jagatsinghpur police also registered a case on this matter.

Locals suspected that some miscreants opened firing at Allipngal in which one boy Ranjit Majhi alias Nanu hailing from Chandramanipatna under Jagatsinghpur police limit was seriously injured and hospitalized at district headquater hospital, Jagatsinghpur for treatment in critical condition.

In a press meet, Mr. Singh has expressed on today that two special teams at different places on basis of the descriptive roles of the accused persons Papu Behera and Nrusingh Panda of Jagasinghpur police limit narrated by the complainant. During investigation, it is found that it was not a firing at Allipingal by outsider but on the other hand while injured Nanu was preparing to commit a dacoit along with others in side Jagatsinghpur town. There was sudden fire from his own pistol and he sustained bleeding injuries on his person.

Accordingly, other accused persons of the gang of Nrusingh alias Biju and Papu were apprehended. The D.Rs of Papu tallies with the DR of accused persons involved in Balikuda petrol pump dacoit case.

On interrogation, accused Papu has confessed about the commission of crime at Balikuda petrol pump with another accused Yunush of Biridi area & three others associates as per the direction of dreaded criminal Sarkit who is now in Allipingal jail.

Police said four accused persons who are absconding will be arrested soon. Police has seized one pistol and vehicle from them. Two accused persons Papu and Nrusingh have been forwarded to the court while other accused Ranjit is undergoing treatment at DHH, Jagatsinghpur.
