Report by OD bureau; California: Jagannath Society of California (JSoC), Irvine, California has been celebrated the Jagannath Rath (Chariot) Yatra on Saturday June 23rd , 2012 (http://www.mandir.ws/). A large number of Southern California Odia Community residents were gathered to witness this colorful festival and privileged by pulling the beautifully decorated Rath carrying Lord Jagannath, Devi Subhadra and Lord Balabhadra on this auspicious day.

Apart from Odia's , there were many Non Recidence Indians (non-Odias) came to see the Rath parade. The Rath parade started at 12pm after the basic rituals were performed. Cultural programme by kids performing odissi dance and bhajans was seen in the evening.

Authentic Odia foods were served to all devotees by Jagannath Society of California. The Bahuda (Return Rath) Yatra will be celebrated on Sunday July 1st, 2012.
