Odisha: Odia Student Leader in London condemns violence by Congress workers
Sunday, September 09, 2012

Report by OD bureau; London: London’s Odia Student Leader Sounik Kajal on Saturday demanded  immediate arrests of the senior Congress leaders, including AICC general secretary Jadish Tytler and Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee president Niranjan Patnaik, for the Thursday's 'assault' on police during its rally here in front of the state Assembly.

"Since the Congress is out of power in the state for over 12 years now, it is making desperate bids how to dislodge the present government. By resorting to violence during its rally, the party displayed its character and people would never approve of such unruly conduct," Mr Sounik Kajal said.

Addressing the rally, senior leaders of the party said the Congress was trying to destabilize the government by making baseless allegations and instigating the people to go against the administration.

This is regarding the congress protest rally on 6th September in Bhubaneswar, a lot of violence was raised because of the speech that was given by AICC general secretary Jadish Tytler and OPCC president Niranjan Patnaik. The protesters who were involved in this rally behaved in a very un humanly manner, and in between the speech they broke open the barricade, also they fought with the lady police, other polices and media personnels. There was a lot of destruction of national property.

This act was the worst act that one could have done, because hitting a lady and that too a lady police is totally against the law and culture of India.

The government should take a strict action against this kind of behavior that was showcased by the protesters in the rally. The leaders of this really should also be punished by the law and the Indian government. The government should ask these people to ask for apology for the destruction of the Indian property and the violence that these protesters created.
