Report by Saumya Parida; Bhubaneswar: Odia Girl Sohini Mishra wins heart of top bollywood singers and music directors for her performance in Indian Idol. She has bagged the much-coveted Top 10 position in the ongoing Indian Idol 6.

Singing legend Asha Bhonsle, music director Anu Mallick, Salim Merchant, versatile playback singer Sunidhi Chauhan appreciated her voice quality and song. Even bollywood superstar Abhishek Bacchan, Ajay Devgan appreciated Sohini Mishra.

Sohini, a resident of Cuttack, has made Odisha and Odias proud by becoming one of the top ten contestants in the mega singing reality show Indian Idol 6 on Sony Entertainment Television (SET). It is for the first time that an aspiring singer from Odisha has reached this much-coveted position.

Her family consists of her parents. Her fathers is an asst headmaster and both parents are singers (they are radio and TV artists). She is the youngest in her extended family, so she is quite pampered. Started singing from the age of 5, learning classical since she was 8 years old. Parents are supportive, but her dad says that studying comes first. She is not great with studies, but her dad is mostly content. She is also a painter and likes gardening. Fave actor: Hrithik Roshan. Fave film: Koi Mil Gaya, she loves the alien character, Jadoo.
