Report by OD bureau; Bhubaneswar: Odisha Culture Minister Prafulla Samal on Sunday felicitated acclaimed sand artist Sudarshan Pattnaik in Bhubaneswar. Patnaik was felicitated on his winning the solo International Sand Sculpture contest 2012, Spain which was held from 9th to 17th July.

The function was organized by the state culture department which was  held at the state museum. Today Pattnaik show his winning gold medal and trophy to Culture minister Prafulla Samal at Bhubaneswar. There are 10 countries participated in this Contest around the World.

There were five different categories of prize and He has won medals for the "People choice" and "Best positive" Sculptures. He has createda 3.5 meter high sand sculpture of Lord Ganesh sitting on a boat andspreading message about 'Save our Sea Life - Save our Earth from Global Warming'. The theme of the competition is "Secrets of Sea". From last 20 years he is doing sand sculpture at Puri beach of Odisha. He is the brand ambassador of NALCO.
