Report by OD bureau; New Delhi: Internationally acclaimed Odia sculptor Tutu Pattnaik has been selected to participate International Sculpture Symposium in Russia. He is the only sculptor from India participated in this international completion, which will be held in from 19th August to 16th Sept.
After his last successful monumental creation in Stone in 1st International Sculpture Symposium, "The Guardian of Castle, Prince du Noir " Bordeaux, France from 2nd - 17th June 2012, he will participate in the 5th International Sculpture Symposium AUTUMN. INSPIRATION. PENZA, Russia 2012.
Tutu Pattnaik will participate in marble sculptures category in this symposium. The theme of Patnaik in this Symposium is: Concept of Tutu Pattnaik's Sculpture in Marble Our WORLD harmonized with 5 ELEMENTS of Nature, “ WATER, EARTH,WOOD,FIRE & SPACE ”. Imbalance of these are leading towards the devastation, huge destruction of mankind, which is the most hot issue all around the world. The broken Wheel symbolizes the disorder ,the brokenness of Harmony in Nature. The woman at the bottom of the wheel is the “ MOTHER EARTH ” shown as the Goddess of Nature “ PRAKRITI ”, the ultimate symbol of POWER in Indian mythology.
After his successful participation in France symposium this year, Patnaik once again invited by the organiser to another symposium in a different Castle ( venue) next year in 2013. Patnaik also selected to participate in International Symposium, in Japan in the mid of next year 2013.
This Delhi-based renowned Odia sculptor participated over 100 international symposium and recognised by state Lalit Kala Academy and Sahitya Kala Parishad, New Delhi. He participated in various international sculpture completion held in Germany, Russia, France, UK and other countries.
He was awarded with AIFACS, Award New Delhi, in 1988, 1990 & 1999, Vice-Chancellor Award, Delhi University – 1990, 20th Lalit Kala Academy, State Award, Orissa – 1992, 57th Academy of Fine Art Award, Calcutta – 1992, 23rd Annual Art Exhibition Award, Sahitya Kala Parishad, New Delhi – 1994, 24th Annual Art Exhibition Award, Sahitya Kala Parishad, New Delhi – 1996, 26th Annual Art Exhibition Award, Sahitya Kala Parishad, New Delhi – 1999, 118th Dr. S. Radhakrishnan Memorial National Teacher's Award, N.Delhi-2005 and III rd Prize in Competition of Paintings among Sculptors at IIIrd International Sculpture Symposium, Penza, Russia – 2010.
