Report by OD bureau, Bhubaneswar: Jignyasha Ipsita Pattanaik, a student of Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), has achieved the coveted distinction of topping the Final M.B.B.S. Examination of Utkal University.
Students from four colleges, including a Government medical college, had appeared the final examination of the five-year M.B.B.S. course of Utkal University, result of which was declared on 17th October 2012. Jignyasha also secured Honours in three subjects - Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynecology and Pediatrics.
KIMS returned an impressive 90% result, higher than the University average of about 81%. The achievement is even more remarkable as this is the first batch of students from KIMS, which was established in only 2007. It may be mentioned that KIMS students have been securing top positions in Semester examinations conducted by Utkal University for last five years.
Congratulating Jignyasha for the superlative performance, Dr. A. Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS expressed satisfaction over the excellent result of the first batch students of KIMS. He also commended faculty and staff of KIMS for the achievement.
