Bangalore: Chasing 191-run target, Kolkata Knight Riders wins IPL 5 by defeating Chennai Super Kings in the final match of Indian Premier League fifth season at MA Chidambaram stadium on Sunday.
KKR bats man Manvinder Bisla (89) and Jacques Kallis lead the chasing. Both added 136-run stand with to lead the run chase against Chennai Super Kings. After losing skipper Gautam Gambhir (2) early, Bisla slammed 27-ball fifty to resurrect Kolkata chase. Bisla put on quick 100-run stand with Jacques Kallis as they took Kolkata over 100 runs in just 9.5 overs.
Earlier, Chennai skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and decided to bat against Kolkata. Electing to bat, Suresh Raina (73) and Michael Hussey (54) helped defending champions Chennai set 191-run target for Kolkata.
