Bhubaneswar: Leading cueists of West Bengal and Odisha would vie for titles and cash prizes in the Cue Club Open Snooker Tournament scheduled to be held here at Cue Club, Patia from July 6 to 15.
Altogether 67 players, including West Bengal senior runner-up Amir Hussen, junior champion Roshan and Odisha's former National ladies' runner-up Priyanka Agarwal have confirmed their participation, said Cue Club president Abhishek Mahananda in a Press Meet here on Wednesday. The 10-day tournament would feature competition in sub-junior (U-19), junior (U-21) and senior categories.
A budget of Rs 1 lakh has been estimated for the smooth conduct of the tournament, which carries a total prize fund of Rs 40,000. The sub-junior, junior and senior champions would take home Rs 1,500, Rs 3,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively. Top 16 finishers of the tournament would get direct entry to an all-India tournament, proposed to be held in October/November this year.
