Bhubaneswar: Dominating woman footballer of the State always has a lion shear in the national squad as the All India Football Federation has selected eight players from our state for the forthcoming preparatory coaching camp to be held at Sports Authority of India Center in Kolkata from July 16 to 31 for the preparation of the SAFF Women’s Football Tournament.
Total 45 players would join the first phase camp and the next phase of the camp will also be held at the same venue from August 1 to 31 and the list will be pruned down to 30. Sahid Jabar and Ranjita Mohanty of the State would join the camp as coach and goalkeeper coach respectively. Another three Odia players are in the camper list Sasmita Mallick, Pinky Bompal Magar and Supriya Samal are representing the South East Railway. The defending champion Odisha team would participate in the SAFF Championship to be held at Sri Lanka from September 1.
The list of the campers: Sita Sharma (Rourkela), Rashmita Patra (Kendrapada), Alochona Senapati (Odisha Police), Swarnamyee Samal, Bijaya Laxmi Sahoo, Supriya Routray, Manisha Panna, Lochona Munda (all E.Co. Railway).
