Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Rifle Association (ORA) felicitated Odia girl shooter Shreyanka Sadangi at the Utkal Karate School here on Saturday. Seventeen-year-old Shreyanka has bagged gold medal in 10m Air Rifle women individual event and a silver medal in the team event at the prestigious Junior International Shooting Championship 2012 held at Suhl, Germany on June 2012. She scored 398 out of 400 in the qualification round and a final score of 500.9 to beat her competitors from various other countries. In the 22nd Meeting of Shooting Hopes at Plzen, Czech Republic she had scored 398 out of 400 and won the bronze medal in the team event. Altogether she has won six international medals this year.
She started her shooting career in 2006 under the scheme of ‘Mission Olympic: Cathch Them Young’, she is currently training at Pune based shooting academy Gun for Glory. ORA president Anang Udaya Singh Deo presented a cheque of Rs 11,000. Among others, Hari Prasad Pattnaik, Gouri Mohanty and Sandeep Mohanty were present.
