The grandest extravaganza of sports has come to a rousing end and with that Indiafs most glittering campaign at the Olympics. India finished with a medal haul of six at the London Olympics doubling the Beijing Olympics tally of three. Medals were expected from Gagan Narang, Mary Kom and Saina Nehwal and they delivered. Unheralded Vijay Kumar proved his mettle at the London Games so did the veteran Yogeshwar Dutt as Sushil Kumar created history becoming Indiafs only athlete to win back to back Olympic medals in an individual event.
Today International sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik created a sand sculpture to congratulate the Indian Olympic medal winners by creating a 10ft wide sand sculpture of Six Olympic medals with message "India's Pride" and the National flag at the top with a message "Mera Bharat Mahan" at Puri beach of Odisha. Pattnaik also created a sculpture of kusti because in kusti Indiafs Sushil Kumar created the history.
Pattnaik used 10 tones of sand to create this sculpture and students of his sand art school joins hand with him. Before also Sudarsan created many sand sculptures on Olympics to wish the Indian sport persons. I would like to salute these heroes in this 65th Independents day, they made the country proud. As an artist I congratulate them through my sand art. Said Sudarsan.
So far Sudarsan has participated in more than 47 International sand sculpture championships and festival around the World and won many prizes for our country. Recently he has won double gold medal at Spain and won 1st prize at Copenhagen. Since last 20 years he is running a sand art school at Puri beach of Odisha. He is also the brand ambassador of NALCO.
