Cuttack: Odisha lost to Hyderabad by four wickets on the second and last day of their opening league match in the All India Buchi Babu Invitation Cricket Tournament at Murugappa Stadium in Chennai today. Chasing 234 for victory and resuming at the overnight score of 14 for no loss, Hyderabad rode on a half century by D Thomas to overhaul the target in 84 overs.

Swing bowler Basant Mohanty and part-time spinner Govind Poddar picked up two wickets each for Odisha, who compiled a competitive total of 233 after winning the toss earlier on the opening day. Odisha will play they their next league match against Maharashtra on August 24 and 25.
