Bhubaneswar: Odisha dominates the match against Maharashtra, registered a six wicket victory in the day one of their two-day long all India Buchi Babu Invitational Cricket Tournament at at Murugappa Stadium in Chennai on Friday.
Winning the toss Maharashtra elected to bat first, Sudipta Swain of Odisha scalped four wickets and his-mate experienced simmer Basant Mohanty bagged three wickets and restricted Maharashtra in 110 runs in 49.3 overs. Ankit Bhawane was the only batsman, who scored double digit score of 48 runs. In reply, Odisha reached the winning target in 37.4 overs for the loss of four wickets. Opener Rakesh Mohanty scored 33 runs and well supported by Natraj Behera and Haldhar Das who scored 32 and 30 runs respectively. With the win Odisha entered the knockout round.
