Report by OD bureau; Bhubaneswar: BCCI today appoints Odisha's Ranjib Biswal as new chairman of National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore. This was during the board's 83rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Mumbai.
It should be noted that Ranjib Biswal is the president of the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) and former manager of Indian Cricket team. Biswal who borned in September 21, 1970 played domestic cricket for the Orissa. He represented India in Under-19 cricket, captaining the side against Pakistan in 4 test matches played in India.
After retiring from domestic cricket in 1997, Ranjib Biswal has become an administrator and was made a member of the selection committee (representing East Zone) in 2005 under Kiran More. In 2006, when the committee was re-formed under Dilip Vengsarkar, Ranjib Biswal was retained for an additional term in 2006.
