Bhubaneswar: Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) president Ranjib Biswal and honorary secretary Asirbad Behera got a rousing welcome here in the city after their appointments as chairman of the National Cricket Academy and member of the Marketing Committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) respectively.
The position of Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) in the administrative set-up of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) became stronger with seven eminent people of the State body finding places in different committees of the National body in its annual general meeting at Mumbia on September 27.
OCA achieved a major success with its president Ranjib Biswal getting nominated as chairman of the National Cricket Academy. Under the leadership of Biswal, who earlier did excellent job as National selector and manager of World Cup winning Indian team, the NCA is expected to improve further. Odisha achieved two more notable success as OCA secretary Asirbad Behera and State senior team coach Debasis Mohanty were named as members of the Marketing Committee and Technical Committee respectively.
Among other four OCA office-bearers, treasurer Satya Mohanty was taken in as member of the Umpires Committee, while joint-secretaries Rabi Sankar Pratihari, Sanjib Kumar Dutta and Siba Prasad Tripathy were nominated as members of Corporate Trophy Committee, Museum Committee and Media Committee respectively.
