Cuttack: Odisha off-spinner Rasanara Parbin made an impressive international debut by bagging two wickets for 15 runs against Pakistan in a league match of the Women T20 World Cup at Galle in Sri Lanka today. But batting failure resulted in India losing the match by one run. After being ignored for the first two matches, Balangir girl Rasanara finally got the chance to become second woman from Odisha after Madhuri Meheta play for the country. In her quota of four overs, she bowled beautifully, conceding 15 runs for the two wickets.
Rasanara first dismissed Pak opener, captain and top scorer Sana Mir for 26, having her caught behind by S Naik. She got her second wicket by having Bismah Maroof caught by H Kaur for three runs. The Odisha girl, however, did not get a chance to bat in the match.
BRIEF SCORE: Pakistan 98 for 9 in 20 overs (Sana Mir 26, Nain Abidi 25; Rasanara Parbin 2/15, A Patil 2/16, Jhulan Goswami 2/16) beat India 97 for 8 in 20 overs (Jhulan Goswamy 21; Nida Dar 3/12, Bismah Maroof 2/18).
