Report by Orissadiary correspondent; Bhubaneswar : A State Vigilance sleuths caught Basudev Nath and Lingaraj Bhoi, both foresters of Guduvela forest section in Balangir district, red-handed while they were receiving a bribe of Rs 15,000 from Sarat Kumar Sahoo of village Bagbahali under Tusra police station for saving him from a forest case. A trap was laid near Tusra airfield on Tuesday and Nath and Bhoi were caught red-handed.
The duo was later then arrested and forwarded to court. In another instance, a the State Vigilance sleuths caught Basanta Kumar Biswal, junior clerk in the office of the assistant engineer, PH sub-division, Burla, red-handed while he was receiving a bribe of Rs 2,500 from Nityananda Deep of village Kirba for processing the pension paper of Deep who was working as a fitter mechanic in the office and retired from service in 2008.
A trap was laid on Tuesday in the office premises of the assistant engineer.
Biswal was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe of Rs 2,500 from Deep. He was later arrested and forwarded to court.
