Himachal Pradesh to consider free traveling facility to Muslim women in HRTC buses on Id & Bakarid

Report by Bijender Sharma; Dharmshala: State Government would consider free travelling facilities to the women of muslim community to any destination in HRTC buses on Eid and Bakar Eid festivals at par with the women of other communities on their festivals.  This was stated by Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister, while addressing the Eid Milan Function at Mand Mayani, in the interiors of Nurpur Sub-Division of district Kangra .  He greeted the members of the community assembled from different parts of the State on Eid and wished them all a joyous celebration of the festival.

Prof. Dhumal said that the State Government was endeavouring to bridge the gap between different regions, communities, lower and upper, old and new Himachal and emotionally integrate the Sate to progress ahead with renewed vigour and strength.  He expressed his gratitudes towards the people of the state who had reposed their faith in the progressive and people oriented policies and programmes since the party had registered victory in three of the four parliamentary constiuencies including Shimla seat besides creating history by winning assembly seat from Rohru.   He said that it was common man's government in the state which had made sincere efforts to benefit every section of the society through the policies and programmes envisioned from time to time.

Chief Minister said that a Rs. 300 crore Doodh Ganga scheme was under implementation in the State to give boost to milk production activities in the State.  He said that since the main avocation of minorities in Mand Mayani area was animal husbandry and they could take benefit under the scheme and avail 25 percent subsidy on loan upto Rs. three lakhs for general category and 33 percent for scheduled caste community members.  He said that it would benefit the community immensely.  He assured the community of best of the facilities and consider their all genuine demands sympathetically.

Shri Murid Hussain, Chairman, HP Wakf Board, welcomed the Chief Minister and other dignitaries to Mand Mayani, interior area in district Kangra to celebrate Eid with the minority community residing in the area.  He thanked the Chief Minister for honouring the sentiments of the minorities in the area since he happened to be the First Chief Minister of the State who was participating in the Eid Milan function of the Muslim Community.   He thanked the Chief Minister for granting permission to start degree college in the area and protecting the interests of the minorities and urged him for providing suitable land to rehabilitate the nomadic tribes permanently at one place.  He also apprised CM of various other demands of the community.  He assured the CM that the community was solidly behind the State Government and said that there was complete harmony amongst all the communities in the area which were coexisting in a most harmonious manner.

Sarveen Chaudhary, Social Justice and Empowerment Minister, Dr. Rajan Sushant, MP Lok Sabha, Shri Rakesh Pathania, Shri Sanjay Chaudhary, Shri Des Raj MLAs, Dr. Harbans Rana, former MLA, Shri Trilok Kapoor, Chairman, Woolfed, Shri Raj Bali, State President, BJP Minorities Cell, Shri Karim Baksh, former President, State BJP Minorities Cell, Shri R.S.Gupta, DC, Dr. Atul Fulzele, SP, Shri Sonam Negi, Chief Engineer, PWD, senior officers of other departments and prominent people of the area were present on the occasion.
