Shimla: Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister, visited the historic Gurudwara here today to pay his tribute to Sikh Guru Shri Guru Arjun Dev Jee on his martyrdom day and was accompanied by Shri Satpal Singh Satti, State BJP President, Shri Suresh Bhardwaj, MLA, Shri Ganesh Datt, Vice Chairman, HIMUDA and other dignitaries.
Addressing the congregation of Sikh devotees, Chief Minister emphasized the need to follow teachings of Guru’s in daily life to attain salvation. He said that the prophesies made by great visionary spiritual leaders were guidelines to achieve success in life. He said that Guru Arjun Dev was one of such spiritual leader who had large number of devotees and had spread the message of universal peace and brotherhood. He said that Guru Arjun Dev made supreme sacrifice for the sake of humanity. He said that India had been the birth place of maximum spiritual leaders who had been instrumental in spreading the message of non-violence, peace and universal brotherhood the world over. He said that almost all major faiths had originated in India and reached farthest corner of the world for the sake of humanity. He appealed to the congregation of devotees to contribute in their own way for the sake of suffering and deserving humanity to make this planet earth a place worth living.
Shri Jasvinder Singh, President, Sri Gurudwara Singh Sabha, welcomed the Chief Minister and presented him ‘Siropa’ on the occasion.Shri Rakesh Singha, former MLA, other prominent people of the town and office bearers of Singh Sabha were present on the occasion.
