Bhubaneswar: Rowdy Rathore', a remake of the Telugu smash hit 'Vikramarkudu' 2006, marks the return of Akshay Kumar in the action genre after a hiatus lover boy for some time. Remake of the movie in number of other language made it vulnerable to judge against others and give an out and out view by anybody so the feeling is it’s not bettered the original Vikramarkudu but could do a good business in box office by looking into no big releases in next three to four weeks time.
Vikramarkudu'Directed by the supremely talented and super-successful S.S. Rajamouli and starring Ravi Teja, the movie was a Blockbuster in Tollywood and It was later remade in Tamil as 'Siruthai', in Kannada as 'Veera Madakari' and in Bengali as 'Bikram Singha: The Lion is Back'. The Telugu film, 'Vikramarkudu', was also dubbed in Hindi as 'Pratighat - A Revenge'.
The story Shiva (Akshay Kumar) is a small time conman in love with Priya (Sonakshi Sinha), a pretty girl whom he met at a wedding he wasn’t invited to. Into this picture perfect world enters six year old Neha who inexplicably believes Shiva to be her dad! And if this wasn’t bad enough, Shiva also becomes the object of a series of life threatening attacks by a gang of deadly criminals who seem to know something he doesn’t. While trying desperately to save his life and love, Shiva stumbles upon a deadly secret. A secret that will take him to a small town in Bihar; a town terrorized by its ruthless MLA and the mafia he controls; a town whose inhabitants’ only hope for redemption is…Shiva!
Prabhu Deva's spirited execution of the subject forms another USP. His handling of the dramatic sequences deserves brownie points.Akshay is cast in a double role -- one as a cop and the second one as a petty thief -- and both the roles are custom-made for the endearing actor. As Shiva, he entertains the masses, whereas as Vikram Rathod, he aims at serious movie lovers.Nassar is superb as the antagonist. Ditto for the actor who essays the part of his brother.Sonakshi glows as Paaro, a spunky Indian beauty showing flashes of her star-father's confidence when she snarls at the villains, 'O saand ke bhes mein kukur." This Patna girl's stepped out in style with Rowdy. But her little role in second half just made the movie out and out Aki's movie. It is sure that Akshay Kumar's action in 'Rowdy Rathore' will give a challenge to Salman Khan, who suceed with Dabang, Bodyguard
The Music is really good, 'Huge' is the way to describe in one word. There are so many factors involved due to which one expects nothing less than an out and out chartbuster outing.
Fans will love Akshay's mooch and the actions imitating of south original, typical south style. Rowdy Rathore is a full masala movie like of 80’s; the good prevails over the bad.
