Report by Vijyender Sharma, Dharmshala: Former Union Minister Virbhadra Singh strongly Criticized the Prem Kumar Dhumal-led BJP government for its failure to provide land to establish three major industries in the hill state resulting in laggard industrial development in the state. He was addressing a press conference at Kangra ,after he resigned from the Union Cabinet and was assigned job to head the election campaign committee by AICC President Sonia Gandhi.
Mr Singh said the UPA government set up Rs 5,000 crore Steel Processing Plant at Kandrodhi here, a SAIL project during his tenure as Minister for Steel. The state was deprived of three such major projects since the BJP government was failed to provide land for these projects, he lamented. He asked Mr. Dhumal to name any major project he had established in this district during his last two terms.Regarding alleged involvement of son of Dhani Ram Shandil in spying case Virbhdra Singh replied that both Congress and Dhani Ram Shandil had nothing to do with this case and added that if Shandil wants of his own he could resign from Congress Working Committee membership on moral grounds.
Regarding CD issue he replied that he was a victim of a big conspiracy of forces with malafide intentions. He said that these forces would get exposed when he would come out clean and they would be punished and penalised by the 'God' himself. He expressed confidence that Congress would come into power with a huge majority in the state.
