Hyderabad: The Chief Minister Mr N Kiran Kumar Reddy today announced that the State Government within this one and half year span spent Rs.4890 crs on farmers welfare only apart from the budget allocations for Agriculture, free power to farmers etc.
The Government is spending Rs.1,000 crs towards NREGS. To protect farmers, the State Government has already requested the Government of India to converge NREGS with Agriculture. The Chief Minister was addressing the Aqua, Horticulture and general farmers at Horticulture University, V.R. Gudem, West Godavari District during his Indiramma Baata second day tour. He said the input subsidy, Minimum Support Price (MSP) enhancement for paddy, construction of godowns etc are some of the welfare measures, he added.
