Delhi Based Band ‘Mir’ Creates Magic With A Musical Fusion At Harem Meeza’s Marrakesh Night
Tuesday, September 18, 2012

Report by Santanu Ganguly, New Delhi: Indi Blue Beats had Guests Grooving and Singing along. The Ambience at Harem Meeza turned truly magical as the evening set onto a fusion Beat with the sounds of Persian Guitars, Dholaks, Dzembe and the rain drops. Harem Meeza (earlier Harem) in its new restaurant-lounge avatar brought in the Delhi based contemporary Fusion Band ‘MIR’ to set the mood for this Marrakesh Night. The talented music band of Five members performed eclectic Sufi fusion music with a contemporary twist. Ankit, Amit, Rishabh, Bhanu and Neeraj paired up with Percussionist Shubankar especially for the Night. While the Guitarists created soothing music with their Persian Guitars, the percussions like djembe, tabla, darbuka, Shagers brought in the elements of earthy good music. The  beats got the crowd swaying and ignited the mood of the special Marrakesh Night. The evening also saw guests singing along on their favorite numbers.

Guests for the evening included musical artist and ace percussionist Gautam Ghosh; Musical duos of Hari and Sukhmani and Ulrich and Daphney; Restaurateurs and Consultants Sonia and Manu Mohindra; Restaurateur Sammir S Gogia, Creative Designer Anubhav Swami and socialite Pooja Gogia.

Gautam Ghosh; Ace Percussionist and Artist, said, “ I Love the ambience at Harem Meeza. This place is the perfect setting for artists, especially with Percussions, it Just goes very well with the entire theme and charm of the place. It’s Cozy and has a very personal feel to it and I would love to perform in an ambience as such. The only thing that has been able to take my attention away from the Music has been the food. I thoroughly enjoyed digging the Middle Eastern kebabs and Tajine. The seafood from the live grills is great too”.

Sammir Gogia, owner of Harem Meeza said, “ I am very happy to see the idea of Marrakesh Night being liked by our guests, It goes on to consolidate our belief that a new gastronomic experience coupled with good Music translates into a celebration. With Marrakesh, we bring in new Musical experiences for our Guests as different artists create a completely different ambience with their performances.”

Started in 2011 with the name Harem, the outlet in Garden of 5 senses aimed to serve as a one-stop party destination with smatterings of all cuisines on offer. While walk-ins were always entertained, since that is the rule and warmth of the hospitality industry, the need to take Harem one-step higher began the journey of making it ‘Meeza’ with Indo-Middle Eastern overtones to the place and a new menu that gives the restaurant and lounge both an identity of its own, and takes both partying and regular dining one notch up. The great parties continue – but come experience the land of Meeza.
