Bhopal: Bhopal railway station’s six platform is expected to be completed in two months. This was informed by Bhopal Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Shri Ghanshyam Singh to Urban Administration & Development Minister Shri Babulal Gaur during inspection of the under-construction platform here today.
Minister Shri Gaur said that construction of the sixth platform should be completed at the earliest. Its construction will facilitate passengers. He assured that no hindrance will be allowed in the way of its construction.
DRM Shri Ghanshyam Singh informed that the sixth platform will be a drive-in platform where passengers will reach directly in their four-wheelers. It will be developed as a VIP platform. There is a plan to run Shatabdi Express from this platform in future. For construction of this platform, railway booking windows situated at platform No. 5 will be shifted. Existing foot over-bridge will also be expanded so that passengers can move out of the station directly. He informed that no construction will be made on the ground floor of platform No. six. Its first floor will have railway waiting room, rest room, cafeteria etc. The work of laying heavy structure railway tracks on the sixth platform will be completed in 15 ays.
Collector Shri Nikunj Shrivastava, SP Shri Arvind Saxena, BMC Commissioner Shri Rajneesh Shrivastava and officers of various departments were present on the occasion.
