Report by Santanu Ganguly, New Delhi: This year Indian cinema turns 100 years old. To celebrate 100 years of Indian Cinema River to River Florence Indian Film Festival in partnership with Luisa Via Roma has invited Megastar Amitabh Bhachchan to be the Guest of Honour. Amitabh Bachchan – as an official guest, for the first time at a festival in Italy – will be in Florence to present some of his films (Deewaar, Sholay and Black) and a documentary on his life.
Selvaggia Velo, director of the festival is excited to have a living legend Amitabh Bachchan in Florence. The 12th River to River Florence Indian Film Festival, the only festival in Italy is entirely devoted to Indian cinema. The festival will take place at Cinema Odeon, in Florence, from 7th to 13th December, under the Patronage of the Embassy of India and the Italy-India association.
Though the festival is a well-known name in the film festival circuit yet having Amitabh Bachchan will make the festival amongst the top most revered festivals around the globe.
