Bhubaneswar: Chief minister Navin Patnaik on Friday outright rejected the demand of the Opposition Congress on implementation of President's rule under Article 356 of the Constitution while maintaining that the demand is absolutely unwarranted.
The chief minister, while briefing the media soon after the demand by the leader of the Opposition J B Patnaik for imposition of President's Rule in the state, said that the Opposition, before making such demands, should look into achievement of the state government for the last seven-and-half years for the people of Orissa.
The state government is always committed to the cause of the poor people of the state and will strive for their betterment in future, he pointed out.
