Observed on the same day as Mahashtami, on this day the wheat grains is believed to be formed from the flowers. Dhana (Wheat grains) and Kara Branches (a medicinal plant with antiinsectisidal properties) are offered Puja and taken to the agricultural field for plantation. The practice relies on the believe that this would lessen the effect of famine or flood on the agricultural field and the crops are protected from pests and insects. The puja is done with different kind of dishes to satisfy Goddess Laxmi to bestow them with good crop and ultimate money. |
