Report by Orissa Diary correspondent; Puri: Holy City Puri gears up for Rath Yatra in tomorrow. The massive towering chariots that will carry the idols of Lord Jagannath, and his brother and sister, are ready outside the Lion's Gate of Jagannath Temple. Nearly 15 lakh devotees will rush to Puri to see Rath Yatra.
The district administration has also made necessary arrangements to prevent any untoward incident during the 'Rath Yatra'. Several close circuit cameras have been installed across Puri so that the policemen can keep a tab on all illegal activities.
The pulling of the chariots is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m., although rituals will be performed from early in the morning. Find out more about celebrating the Rath Yatra festival, as well as some interesting information about the endearing armless and legless Lord Jagannath.
