Report by Orissa Diary correspondent; Puri:  The Sevayat-Police tussle in Puri has created a deadlock in the rituals of three deities today with several rounds of meeting yielding no result.

The Adap Mandap Bije (ceremonial procession from three chariots to Gundicha Mandir couldn't be held due to failure in the meeting held at administrative level. So, probably for the first time in history three deities stayed on their respective chariots whole day and the it is expected that the Adap Mandap Bije will be carried out tomorrow only after the DG, Police meets the agitating angry sevayats to fulfill their demands.

All the rituals like Madhyahna Dhua, Abakash were carried out on the chariots late in the evening today. More than 10 "sevayats" (priests) and some devotees were injured in
Puri during a lathi charge by police personnel to control  the swelling crowd of devotees atop "Nandighosh", the chariot of Lord Jagannath.

On the other hand the SP, Puri Amitendra Nath Sinha has suspended four cops who lathi charged the sevayats earlier in the day.
